“We should all hope to age as well as the Volvo XC60. The current second-generation model debuted way back in 2017. That’s an eternity in the fast-evolving automotive landscape, but it neither looks nor feels old, and it still sits near the top of our luxury compact SUV and luxury plug-in hybrid SUV rankings. Nevertheless, time waits for no SUV. To keep the XC60 fresh, the Swedish automaker has given it a glow-up for 2026, with an updated interior, new tech, and the lightest of exterior changes.”

“Every model update must start with a new grille, and the 2026 XC60 gets exactly that, with a texture borrowed from the brand’s EVs. On the latest Black Edition, the grille is finished in gloss black, as are the Volvo badge and the 21-inch wheels. Darkened taillights are new for all XC60s. The Black Edition also offers a choice of dark-gray leather options, while other models offer two new vegan materials: Nordico faux leather and Herringbone Weave cloth. The car we drove had the quilted Nordico upholstery in the Driftwood (beige) colorway. Interior materials are well chosen, and nothing looks or feels cheap. The overall vibe is modern without being as overly techy as Volvo’s latest EV offerings.”

“Volvo didn’t mess with anything under the hood, so the 2026 XC60 offers the same two engine options as before. The standard setup, called B5, uses a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine plus a 48-volt mild hybrid system that offers supplemental power to smooth out the stop/start tech and help nudge the XC60 away from a stop. Total output is 247 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque, and all-wheel drive is standard.”
